Exam information

The APLH assessment is a multiple-choice exam consisting of 40 questions.

To pass, you must answer at least 28 questions correctly.

The exam is completed online using your own computer or laptop and requires a webcam for remote invigilation.

Certification

Upon successfully passing the course, you will receive a Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) certificate issued by Highfield Qualifications.

This certificate currently does not have an expiry date.

It is the first step required before applying for your Personal Licence.

Personal Licence application process

After passing your APLH qualification, you must apply to your local licensing authority to obtain your Personal Licence.

Applications must be submitted to the licensing office that covers your home address. This may be your local council or a regional licensing partnership.
